On the other hand, some players are a little harder to see the potential in.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re bad prospects – or NBA players. Some players just seem to have a high floor and a low ceiling. They’re good, but it’s hard to see how they’ll get much better.
There’s value in that, too. These are the types of players teams can rely on. They may never be stars, but they’re guys that will be mainstays in NBA rotations for years to come.
Lu Dort is one such player. He doesn’t offer much in self-creation, his three-point shooting is inconsistent, and he’s undersized.

With that said, he’s one of the best one-on-one defenders in the NBA, and that won’t be changing any time soon.
