During the 2017-18 playoffs, the Rockets gave the Warriors all they had in the Western Conference Finals. While other teams were tanking around the Warriors’ timeline, the Rockets rose to the challenge. If not for Chris Paul’s blown hamstring, they may have vanquished them. 

Of course, the close is for horseshoes and hand grenades. The Rockets lost the series, and it’s been downhill ever since.
