Unfortunately, the Brooklyn Nets have had trouble finding that balance in recent years.
Up until recently, they had the starriest trio in the NBA on their roster. With Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving on the roster, it wasn’t supposed to matter if they had the right role players to support them.
Perhaps it always did. On the other hand, it may have simply been a case of too many egos in the room. In either case, each of those stars now plays elsewhere.
Now, the Nets have a deep cast of excellent role players. Here’s the problem: they don’t have a star player to support.

It feels like one way or another, the Nets can’t assemble a balanced roster.
