Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal
The Pacers may refuse to tank. This year, it looks like they can’t help it. That’s not to say the Pacers are among the league’s utmost basement dwellers. They’re not.
This is a competitive team, but they’re still losing far more often than they’re winning. That’s fine. The Pacers are young. As currently constructed, Dorian Finney-Smith would fill a gap for them.
He’d be the perfect starting four for this team. He would make them a formidable defensive squad with Myles Turner anchoring the defense. He can also be an efficient spot-up shooter to provide spacing alongside Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin.
Depending on who they draft, they should look to add him this summer. If the Pacers were to draft a wing like Cameron Whitmore or Ausar Thompson this summer and add Dorian Finney-Smith, they’d likely look a lot more impressive next season.
