Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal

There is one thing that seems to be certain. It is unlikely that Toppin will be breaking out in New York if he is going to break out at all.

There is simply too much functional similarity between him and Randle. It has been said that Toppin is a 4 who is best able to operate when he has the ball in his hands. Bogdanovic, on the other hand, does not require the rock to be effective for him to make a statement.

It is possible that he could be the starting small forward for this team in the future. Randle would certainly benefit from his ability to spread the floor out on the court.

Moreover, the Knicks have the option of moving RJ Barrett to the 2 full-time if they so choose. Due to Jalen Brunson’s relative small stature, his positional size will be a benefit in comparison to his positional size.

It should be noted that if there is anything wrong with this, it is the fact that the Knicks just acquired Josh Hart. It appears to be a small issue. It is likely that Hart will find himself spending a lot of time with the second unit in New York since he is a multi-positional player.

It is possible for the Knicks to take a significant step forward next season if they can retain all those pieces while adding Bogdanovic to that list.
