Why The Miami Heat Do The Deal
Ironically, Jones would be the perfect player for the Heat to acquire without having to give up Jimmy Butler in the process.
The point guard play of this team has been a major concern so far in this season. They don’t need a star at that position, as Butler and Adebayo do a lot of the playmaking, so they don’t need a star there.
It would be sufficient to have a floor spacer who plays good defense. That’s Jones to a tee. Oh well. This could be a great opportunity for the Heat to acquire their point guard of the future.
It is still early in Jones’ career that he will be able to contribute to the rebuilding effort. This is more than anything else a chance for Miami to start over with a clean slate.

Considering Williams is a young player with star potential, and the Heat have three new first-round picks available, the Heat may be able to trade for another player who is younger than Butler soon.
