Why The Cleveland Cavaliers Do The Deal 

Of course, there’s another reason Cleveland should prefer this deal to a Mobley deal. James can directly replace Garland. 

That doesn’t mean having him run point, necessarily – although, it could. The Cavs could go that route and run a supersized lineup. 

Alternatively, they could target a low-usage, 3-and-D wing to replace Garland in the starting lineup. James would still be replacing him as the primary playmaker. As talented as the young guard is, that’s an upgrade. 

This is an all-in push for the championship for the Cavs. Yes, parting with a 23-year-old star will sting, but this is LeBron James we’re talking about.
