With that said, perhaps we’re being too critical of Washington. 

There is something to be said for continuity in the NBA. If you need an example, just look to the Brooklyn Nets. This team has been absolutely chaotic over the last few years. 

It’s hard to believe, but they started last season with Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and James Harden on their roster.

They’re all gone. Left in their wake are a cast of role players and a cache of first-round picks.

Now, they’re in a similar position to the Wizards. These are both solid squads, and yet, neither has anything resembling a realistic hope of winning an NBA title.
