These days, that’s a rare sighting. In the modern NBA, draft picks are expected to change hands in any major deal. They’re the currency of the modern NBA.
This deadline was no exception. First-round picks greased the wheels on plenty of trades. Most notably, the Brooklyn Nets received four first-rounders in exchange for Kevin Durant.
Yet, a new trend emerged this year as well. Teams bundled huge amounts of second-round picks to make trades happen.
