Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

Following their flurry of trades at the deadline, the Nets are in an interesting position. 

This group should have one of the best defenses in the NBA. On the other hand, it’s difficult to see where they’ll turn for defense. The Nets don’t have an offensive star to carry them. 

If they made this deal, they would. Siakam would be this team’s new franchise player. Pairing him with Nic Claxton and surrounding them with 3-and-D wings ought to make for an unstoppable defense, and he’ll dramatically improve their offense.
