Los Angeles Lakers Receive: G Mike Conley, G/F Malik Beasley, F/C Jarred Vanderbilt 

Utah Jazz Receive: G Russell Westbrook, 2027 First-Round Pick (LAL), 2029 First-Round Pick (LAL) 

You’ve heard this one before. We’ll be honest – you’ve heard all of these before. There are only so many Westbrook deals that make sense. 

This might be the most sensible one. The Lakers need floor spacing and defence. This deal provides each in surplus. 

Conley is an especially appealing acquisition. He’s almost Westbrook’s opposite. Conley doesn’t have any of his natural athleticism, but he’s an excellent decision-maker and a knockdown shooter. He’ll compliment James nicely. 

So will Beasley. He’s a great movement shooter and the type of athlete who James can locate in transition. Finally, Vanderbilt is an excellent defensive combo big with good passing skills.

None of them are valuable enough to the Jazz to decline this deal. They’re getting two highly valuable unprotected first-round picks here, and they’re in no position to turn them down. Neither is the next team in this piece.
