Why The Los Angeles Clippers Do The Deal
Well, of course they’d be more balanced with Wood. The question is whether they’d be better.
They probably would. Wood is a dynamic offensive play finisher who can pop or roll out of pick-and-roll actions. He’d give the Clippers a viable third offensive option behind Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
That’s a valuable addition at the cost of two players they don’t use very often.
Neither Covington nor Coffee sees 20 minutes a night in this Clippers’ rotation. They’re expendable.

If there’s any hesitation on the Clippers’ part here, it’ll have to do with Wood’s contract. He’s due for an extension this summer. Still, at this price, he’s even worth a rental.
Should the Mavericks part with him for this return?
