In fact, whenever a big NBA trade goes down, it generates a lot of buzz. Usually, it happens two times – during the offseason, and leading up to the trade deadline. 

The summer is a time when teams assess their goals for the season. The deadline is a time when they decide if they’re meeting them. These tend to be the busiest times in the NBA in terms of movement. 

This summer was no exception. The Cleveland Cavaliers were at the center of much of the movement. Their acquisition of Donovan Mitchell was arguably the biggest news of the offseason. 

So far, that decision has paid off. At 34-22, the Cavaliers have assembled a young title contender.
