Let’s be honest here. There’s no way that Olynyk is worth a first-round pick on his own. 

In addition to this, the Heat would not attach a first-round pick in exchange for simply releasing Robinson’s contract. What makes this work is the combination of the two factors that make it work. In exchange for a first-round pick, the Heat will shed a bad contract and receive a quality player in return. 

There is no doubt that Olynyk is a quality player. In my opinion, this is a big who has excellent floor spacing and plays solid defense, but is also surprisingly strong in terms of playmaking skills. I think he will be a great addition to the Heat’s roster. 

In addition to that, Olynyk recently played in Miami. As he is familiar with the philosophies of this organization, he will be very happy to adhere to them in the future.
