Why The Atlanta Hawks Do The Deal
It is not going to be an easy decision for the Hawks to make in this case. There is a good chance they won’t be able to do it if they don’t have to.
On the other hand, their hand could be forced in the near future. There may not be a sustainable situation if there is discord between Young and the Hawks. Even though it may seem crazy to think about it, the Hawks may be shopping Young in the near future.
If they are, then this would be a perfect return for them. There is no doubt that Ingram is a star-caliber player: he may not play on Young’s level, but he is young and he is a wildly productive player. In addition to that, he is also a solid defender, unlike Young. It is likely that any issues the Hawks may have with Young stem from that end of the floor if they do.
Of course, they’re also going to get two extremely valuable first-round picks from this deal, as well. It is possible for either of them to end up in the lottery.

Who knows what the future holds? There is even a possibility that they could end up bringing in a new franchise player to the Hawks.
