The Raptors had high hopes entering the season. At some point, it becomes evident that those hopes were in vain. We’re talking about the league’s most disappointing teams. 

While Toronto might not have been viewed as title contenders heading into the year, but they were supposed to be competitive. This was a team coming off a first-round playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers just a year ago with the same team.

At 23-29, they’ve fallen well short of expectations. The current version of their team has certainly ran its course, requiring some tough decisions to be made ahead of the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

There’s plenty of talent on this team. It just doesn’t seem to be clicking. That’s exactly why the Raptors are seen as potentially huge sellers leading up to this year’s trade deadline.

Without a superstar to build around, the Raptors need to do what they can to position themselves to land one. Their best option is the NBA Draft. As for the Thunder, they already have their superstar in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
