The New York Knicks will surely look to move on from Cam Reddish ahead of the NBA trade deadline. He has emerged as one of the top names to watch in terms of realistic names that could be on the move.
Reddish is having a disappointing season, with averages of 8.4 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 21.9 minutes per game. He’s appeared in just 20 games altogether.
Reddish has proven unable to crack the Knicks coach Tim Thibodeau’s rotation, and he’s set to be a restricted free agent this offseason. He last appeared in a game on Dec. 3 after the team made wide-sweeping changes. When putting the pieces together, it’s highly likely he is going to get moved.
According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, the Heat are another team interested in trading for Reddish, joining the Milwaukee Bucks, Dallas Mavericks, and Los Angeles Lakers as potential suitors.
League sources say Miami is indeed interested in the 6-foot-8 swingman along with the other publicly known Reddish suitors (Bucks, Mavericks and Lakers).
The Heat are considered a great organization for player development. They could benefit from taking a low-risk chance on Reddish if the Knicks are content with sending him within the Eastern Conference. The same can be said about the Bucks. They are limited in what moves they can make but could benefit from taking that type of a risk if permitted to do so.
With the continued depression of Reddish’s trade value, one team to monitor, in particular, is the Lakers. The ties between his representation being Klutch Sports spotlight the potential draw for Los Angeles. Given their need for playable wing options and youth, it makes all the more sense to take the flier.

The Mavericks are an intriguing landing spot for Reddish, given the potential benefit of adding another wing around Luka Doncic with extra layers to their game. Reddish would possibly bring a dynamic that few players possess on their roster. The risk makes sense for a team that doesn’t have a 2023 first-round pick.
The prior reporting on the Mavericks’ interest in Reddish mentioned the Knicks’ desire to acquire Reggie Bullock in return. However, Dallas is in a situation that calls for adding more talent on the wing, not swapping a wing for a wing.

It remains to be seen if the Knicks will manage to land much in return for Reddish. They have long sought a first-round pick in exchange for the young swingman, but that’s clearly not going to come or else he’d be playing for a different team already.
