Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

Obviously, the Lakers aren’t doing this deal because they feel sentimental. It has to make basketball sense. 

It does. In fact, the Kyle Kuzma they’re getting back here is better than the player who wore their uniform before. Kuzma has evolved. 

He happens to have evolved into exactly the type of player the Lakers could use. Kuzma can create his own shot in half-court, and he’s also a lethal player in transition. 

Meanwhile, this deal doesn’t require the Lakers to move on from Westbrook.
