Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal
The cat is officially out of the bag here. The Knicks are obviously looking to move Reddish.
At this point, they may take anything for him. Recent reports have suggested that they’d be content with second-round draft capital for Reddish. They’re getting that here.
They’re also getting some quality veterans. Matthews may even have a little left in the tank. Hill may not crack this rotation, but he’s still a solid mentor for the younger players on this roster.
Finally, there’s a simple benefit in this deal for the Knicks. They avoid paying Reddish this summer. In all likelihood, that’s something they’re going to do anyway:
