Bucks, Lakers, Mavs Trade Suitors For Cam Reddish

Cam Reddish, New York Knicks, NBA Trade Rumors

The New York Knicks have cemented themselves as one of the above-average teams in the NBA this season. As we’ve gone beyond the midpoint of the season, they are inside the top 10 of offensive rating, defensive rating, and net rating and have the ninth most wins in the NBA.

At 25-20, the Knicks are currently holding down the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference. A big reason for their turnaround is head coach Tom Thibodeau committing to the young guys in the rotation.

Julius Randle is currently the group’s elder statesman and is only 28 years old. One of the young players missing from the mix however is Cam Reddish.

New York acquired Reddish last season from the Atlanta Hawks as he sought a bigger role elsewhere. The Knicks traded a future first-round pick in the deal, which in hindsight was a mistake as Reddish has been unable to crack their rotation consistently either.

Could the potential-filled wing be on the move again? New York has been involved in multiple trade rumors as Evan Fournier, Derrick Rose and Immanuel Quickley’s names have all come up. But, according to Marc Stein on his Substack, Reddish is the player most likely to be traded.

Cam Reddish is the New York Knick most likely to be moved before the NBA’s Feb. 9 trade deadline, league sources say.

The Knicks have redoubled their efforts to find a new home for Reddish with essentially three weeks to go until the deadline, sources tell The Stein Line, with the Dallas Mavericks having joined the Milwaukee Bucks and the Los Angeles Lakers on the list of known potential trade partners. Reddish has been unable to win trust or regular minutes from Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau since New York acquired him from Atlanta just over a year ago.

The Knicks are reportedly seeking multiple second-round picks in exchange for Reddish, which many people will see as a losing proposition all around given what they surrendered to get him.

Things just never panned out in New York as Thibodeau never seemed fully committed to giving him rotation minutes.

With how well they are playing over the last six weeks, no one can blame Thibodeau for sitting Reddish throughout that time.

It was easy to see that trade talks were picking up as Reddish couldn’t even get on the court when RJ Barrett suffered a fracture and laceration to his hand, missing essentially seven games.

All three teams mentioned would be able to provide Reddish with more playing time as the Bucks, Lakers and Mavericks all would benefit from an infusion of talent on the wing.
