Heading into the 2020-21 season, the Suns were an exciting, upstart team. They’d shown plenty of promise in the prior year. At the same time, they had a glaring need for a point guard.
The Suns fulfilled that need. In fact, they went out and got one of the best ever to play the position. In adding Chris Paul, the Suns put a finishing touch on a rebuild.
It paid dividends. The Suns advanced to the NBA Finals in Paul’s first year with the club. They won 64 games the year after. Unfortunately, at 21-23, it’s looking like their run of success is coming to an end.
