In recent years, that hasn’t been the case. A team hasn’t won back-to-back titles since the Golden State Warriors did it in 2018. These days, it feels like there are more contenders than ever.
Of course, that makes the title harder to defend. Just ask the Milwaukee Bucks. They won the 2020-21 title, but they couldn’t even advance to the NBA Finals last season.
