If you’re an NBA veteran, and you haven’t won a championship, you’d probably like to be playing for a contender.
After all, the clock is ticking. If you don’t taste championship glory soon, you never will. It’s every player’s dream to eventually be part of a team that claims the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
It doesn’t always go that way. Sometimes, a veteran player gets stuck in a rebuild as he nears the end of his career. It’s unfortunate, but it’s also business in the NBA.
For example, take Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets. He’s had some of his best seasons in Space City. Gordon was an integral part of some contending Rockets squads.
Now, the team is near the bottom of the NBA standings.
