This happens every year. A player is widely known to be available long before they’re traded. It can happen for all sorts of reasons.
Sometimes, the player publicly requests a trade. Other times, they may do it privately – but it leaks. Finally, other times, it’s simply obvious to everyone that deal would benefit both sides.
Kyle Kuzma of the Washington Wizards hasn’t publicly requested anything. Still, it seems widely understood that he’d prefer to play elsewhere.
Moreover, it does feel like the relationship between Kuzma and the Wizards has come to a logical end.
