Why The Atlanta Hawks Do The Deal
The Hawks would only do this deal if Young was really requesting a trade. In all likelihood, they won’t look to move their star playmaker if they don’t have to.
If they do, some will expect them to seek a mass of draft capital in exchange for him. Here’s a question: why? The Hawks have a talented roster. They don’t need to bottom out.
How does a Clint Capela, John Collins, De’Andre Hunter, Jaylen Brown, and Dejounte Murray lineup sound? Frankly, it sounds pretty good to us. Suddenly, the Hawks would have a distinct defensive identity – and enough offense to go around, too.
Of course, it doesn’t hurt to land a couple of picks in return for Young here, either.
