San Antonio Spurs Receive: G Trae Young
If these two sides did make a blockbuster deal, it wouldn’t be the first time in recent history.
In fact, the Spurs sent Dejounte Murray to the Hawks this summer in exchange for three first-round picks. Realistically, that may be why we’re here in the first place.
After all, the pairing between Young and Murray hasn’t gone according to plan. The Hawks acquired Murray because he’s an elite perimeter defender – by contrast, Young is one of the worst in the NBA. In a vacuum, that logic made sense.
Unfortunately, the pairing doesn’t make a great deal of sense on offense. Murray is a poor shooter, while Young is one of the best playmakers in the league.
