Of course, when two win-now teams get together for a deal, it can get complicated. 

After all, both sides have the same motivations, right? Why would a team making a playoff bid trade the best player in a deal to another in the same situation – especially if they’re in the same conference? 

Well, it depends on who else is on each roster. Teams can have the same goals, but different priorities they need to satisfy to achieve them. 

For example, the Sixers could use a little more depth. On the other hand, the Knicks could just flat-out use more talent.
