In many NBA circles, tanking is a dirty word. Nobody necessarily likes tanking. For some teams, it’s a necessary evil.

Designing a team that’s built to lose in a bid to maximize your lottery odds is an easy way to land the league’s most talented prospects. 

Apparently, nobody told the Indiana Pacers. At 17-17, this team is 8th in the Eastern Conference. Given that they’re led by third-year pro Tyrese Haliburton, they’re probably content with that outcome. 

On the other hand, the 14-19 Chicago Bulls can’t be satisfied with their season. This team is heavy on veterans, and they’re still losing.

For that reason, plenty expect them to make major changes this season. 

Here’s a deal that would have them do so by sending Zach LaVine to the Pacers.
