This team’s problems run deeper than Ross can solve. If the Lakers want to make a bigger splash, we wouldn’t blame them. At the same time, they may not.
After all, this roster is light on expendable players with trade value. If the Lakers want to improve, they may have to part with draft capital. That could prove to be a tremendous problem for them down the line.
By contrast, they’re parting with a mere second-rounder here.
