We’ve officially reached a point in the NBA season where we’re trying to identify which teams may “blow it up.” There’s very little that NBA fans love more than a blockbuster trade.
Often, those trades occur when a team that’s been underperforming sends a major portion of its core to a team that’s playing well in exchange for future-focused assets.
The Washington Wizards are a strong candidate to blow it up. At 12-20, they’ve been one of the most disappointing teams in the NBA. By now, it feels fair to say that this team ought to be preparing for the future.
The Toronto Raptors are in a similar position. At 14-18, they’ve been very disappointing this season as well.
At the same time, there’s enough intriguing young talent in Toronto for the team to feel already content about their future.
With that in mind, could the Raptors make a win-now move instead of blowing it up?
