In answering that question, let’s look at the worst-case scenario. 

Suppose the Bulls finish with the worst record in the NBA following a roster shakeup. That would mean they’d be guaranteed a top 5 pick at worst. If their pick landed 5th, they’d be sending it to Disney. 

Is that the end of the world? The Bulls already look bound to miss the playoffs. They aren’t likely to have a successful season anyway – is sending Orlando the 5th pick instead of the 9th pick really so earth-shattering? 

With this deal, they’ll at least have a pick in the draft. Meanwhile, the Bulls could turn their attention to the 2024 class if luck doesn’t smile on them.
