Of these three teams, the Spurs have the clearest direction. They’re losing, and that’s exactly what they want to do. 

Like it or not, the Spurs are tanking. This front office is clearly aware of the significance of the upcoming draft. Some would argue this is the most stacked class we’ve seen in a long time. 

Obviously, the Spurs would like to select Victor Wembanyama. Still, prospects like Scoot Henderson, Amen and Ausar Thompson, and Cam Whitmore could change this franchise as well. 

In any event, moving Poeltl would help them land one of them. Of course, adding a first-round pick and a swap will benefit them in the future as well.
