Yes. The Nets are close enough to a championship that they can’t afford to guard future draft capital. 

This is a star-studded, hyper-talented team. Everyone knows Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving can get buckets. With that said, Ben Simmons has flashed the potential to return to his previous form as well. 

Still, it doesn’t feel like the Nets have quite unlocked him. That may be because they don’t have a stretch big man. The spacing in a Simmons/Nic Claxton pick-and-roll is awkward – at best. 

A Porzingis pick-and-pop ought to be a lot more effective. The Latvian star could be the missing piece this team needs to win an NBA title.
