In the NBA, star power reigns supreme. If you don’t have one of the league’s best players, you won’t be playing for an NBA championship.
At the same time, no star can win on his own. A star player needs a quality supporting cast. No matter how talented they are, that holds true.
For example, take Luka Doncic. Without question, he’s one of the best players in the NBA. Still, at 14-13, his Dallas Mavericks don’t look poised to compete for an NBA title this season.
On the other hand, Bradley Beal probably isn’t equipped to be the best player on a championship team. His Washington Wizards’ record of 11-17 reflects as much.
With that in mind, the Wizards may want to turn an eye to the future.
