Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

No. The Lakers obviously wouldn’t be trading for Kuzma just because he’s a former Laker. This team is squarely in win-now mode.

Any acquisition they make has to be sensible from a basketball perspective. 

Luckily, this one is. Kuzma is an athletic wing who can handle the ball, make plays, create his own shot and play defense. He’d be a perfect addition to this Lakers roster. 

It does help that they know that first-hand. When the Lakers traded a handful of young players for Anthony Davis, James seemed to want to hold onto Kuzma.
