Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal
Frankly, the Nets are probably getting the best player in this deal.
Seth Curry is one of the league’s most reliable movement shooters, but he’s a questionable defender. Patrick Beverley is one of the league’s best defensive guards, but his floor spacing comes and goes. By contrast, Crowder is a true 3-and-D wing.
Granted, we haven’t seen him in action in 2022-23. Crowder has issued a trade request with the Suns that remains unfulfilled.
Should the Nets be confident that he’s the same player that he used to be?

They should. Crowder’s game isn’t contingent on elite athleticism. He’s a pure plug-and-play wing. If he’s not able to make the same impact on the game that he has in years past, it would come as a surprise.
Are the Suns getting enough back for him here?
