Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

The Lakers’ decision to acquire Westbrook was always questionable. On the other hand, their decision to acquire Patrick Beverley made perfect sense. 

After all, he’s the sort of 3-and-D guard that any contender can use. With that said, he is an offensively limited player. He may not be as useful to them as Gordon would be. 

For starters, Gordon is a much more reliable floor spacer. In fact, he’s among the league’s premier snipers. Meanwhile, unlike Beverley, he can create his own shot. 

That floor spacing makes him a perfect complement to Westbrook.

On the other hand, that self-creation means that Gordon can give the Lakers an injection of offense without them having to part with future draft capital.
