Why The Washington Wizards Do The Deal
The Wizards do the deal to get the best player involved in it. That’s what win-now teams do.
Some may suggest that functioning as a win-now team is an overreaction to an 11-10 start. Perhaps. On the other hand, something tells us the Wizards wouldn’t agree.
After all, this organization has long shown a preference for staying competitive rather than tanking. They’re not afraid of the middle – and besides, this deal could lift them out of it.
In fact, we like the fit between DeRozan and the Wizards. Kristaps Porzingis’ ability to space the floor from the 5 position makes him a good compliment to DeRozan in light of his shooting limitations.

At the risk of overreacting, of course.
