Two seasons ago, they opted to move Wendell Carte Jr. to the Orlando Magic in exchange for Nikola Vucevic. At the time, it felt like an admirable effort to transition into win-now mode. By now, it looks short-sighted.
In fact, the Bulls could probably use Carter Jr. in place of Vucevic. He is a much better defender, and that’s what this team needs from a big man at the moment.
Now, they’re without him, and the daft capital they moved along with him.
