Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

Frankly, we’re not even sure if this deal makes the Lakers worse. 

It certainly improves their spacing. That’s especially important for this team. Following this deal, the Lakers would finally have surrounded LeBron James and Russell Westbrook with the shooting they need. 

It also makes them deeper. Considering that they’re also getting a star-caliber contributor back in Herro, there’s a real possibility that this deal makes the Lakers better right now. 

Even if it doesn’t, it’s a good deal for them. It lands them a much younger star than Davis in Herro and some much-needed draft capital.
