Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal
The Sixers could justify this deal using a couple of different arguments.
Firstly, Quickley provides some injury insurance. As it stands, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey are both injured. Quickley would be a good option to stop the bleeding.
The second argument is far simpler. Quickley is good. He’s a guard who can create his own shot, and a lockdown perimeter defender as well. He’d be a valuable addition to this team.
Finally, the Sixers protect their pick against disaster here. If they bottom out before 2029, they’ll at least have a shot at retaining this pick.

With that said, they should even entertain offering it unprotected. This team is built to win now, and they need to make improvements.
