Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Kyle Lowry, 2028 Second-Round Pick (MIA), 2029 Second-Round Pick (MIA)
Miami Heat Receive: G D’Angelo Russell
As a rule, NBA teams try to maintain a roster full of players who are in a similar age group. It doesn’t always go that way.
For example, the Minnesota Timberwolves have plenty of key players in their prime. Outside of Russell, Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns are both in the age range where they should be at their best. On the other hand, Anthony Edwards is only a third-year pro.
The Miami Heat are similarly built. They’re a veteran team – for the most part. Lowry is nearing retirement, and Jimmy Butler is on the back end of his prime.
On the other hand, Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro still have room to grow.
