 Of course, the Lakers may have a relatively simple system. They do not, on the other hand, have simple problems. 

Or at least, they don’t have problems with simple solutions. In fact, this team is littered with fundamental flaws. 

Perhaps the most glaring one is the poor fit between their stars. LeBron James has always thrived alongside floor spacers. Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis provide very little of it. 

That’s precisely why the Lakers are widely expected to move on from one of them. The current situation is unacceptable.

If the season ended today, the Lakers would be handing the New Orleans Pelicans, who own their first-round pick, premium lottery odds. That would represent a critical organisational failure.
