Why The New York Knicks Do The Deal 

Frankly, nobody on this roster should be expendable. Generally speaking, untouchable players land roughly within the league’s top 10. 

Unless you think Quickley can get there, of course. If you do, more power to you – but you may want to keep that opinion to yourself. 

Otherwise, this deal is about increasing their odds of finding such a player for the Knicks. It should help them bottom out this season, and more importantly, it lands them an extra first-round pick to play with. 

Perhaps the Knicks eventually use it to select a player. Alternatively, they could end up moving it for a star.
