Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal 

Close your eyes. Picture the perfect co-star for Luka Doncic. 

You’re probably picturing a scorer, right? After all, very few players in NBA history have been as apt at setting up their teammates as Doncic. Dallas would be well served to land a pure scorer to play alongside him. 

Of course, Quickley stretches the definition of “co-star” pretty wide. He certainly hasn’t proven he can meet the standard of the second-best player on a title contender yet. Still, if you’ve watched him, you can’t deny his upside. 

Even if he never reaches that level, he’s a good acquisition for the Mavericks. This team badly need shot creation, and no matter how he pans out, we already know Quickley provides it.
