Why The Indiana Pacers Do The Deal 

The Pacers are getting two vastly different prospects back here. 

Kuminga has flashed major potential at the professional level. He’s far from a certainty, but he has the appearances of the sort of two-way wing that modern NBA teams covet. He’s the major prize here. 

By contrast, Wiseman hasn’t shown much. At the same time, his length and vertical leap should allow him to at least be a decent defensive big in this league in time. 

Finally, this deal also allows the Pacers to bottom out. If the lottery Gods smile on them, they could be adding an elite prospect to a young core featuring Kuminga, Wiseman, Bennedict Mathurin, and Tyrese Haliburton next summer. That could give the Pacers one of the brightest futures in the NBA.
