Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal
Acquiring Turner to bolster the second unit may feel counterintuitive. Obviously, he would start in over Kevon Looney.
At the same time, acquiring Turner allows the Warriors to move Looney to the bench. He won’t do much to boost this second unit’s offense, but at least he’ll stop the bleeding on the other end.
Of course, that only makes sense if Turner is a good fit with the Warriors’ starters. He does. In fact, these Warriors have never had a stretch big like Turner in their starting lineup.
On the other end of the floor, Turner’s prowess as a rim protector will be hugely beneficial. It should allow Draymond Green even more freedom to roam. If you’re a fan of any other NBA team, that’s not good.
