Why The Philadelphia 76ers Do The Deal
The Sixers are taking a gamble here. If Bullock’s shooting returns to form, they could be landing the best player in the draft.
That’s probably not a bad bet. Shooters slump. Bullock has an extensive track record as a knockdown shooter. Nobody can guarantee his shot will come back around, but it’s worth betting on.
Moreover, don’t discredit the draft capital switching sides here entirely. The Sixers are already star-studded: they don’t need a cache of first-round picks to improve this team. These picks could grease the wheels for another incremental upgrade.
Finally, the cost here is minimal. Thybulle has fallen out of the rotation anyway. Bullock has better offs of improving his shooting than Niang does at improving his defense.

If this works out, it’ll improve the Sixers, and if it doesn’t, it’s a minimal loss.
After all, they aren’t parting with any true 3-and-D wings here.
