After all, Durant is one of the very best players in the history of basketball. Even at 34, that holds true. The Nets have been losing this year, but Durant’s statistical output has been as gaudy and efficient as ever. 

He and Lillard would form one of the best duos in the NBA. Moreover, Lillard’s style of play is functionally similar to Irving’s – Durant wouldn’t have to make significant adjustments to work with his new co-star. The fact that he won’t get suspended for disseminating anti-Semitism probably helps, too. 

Finally, the Blazers wouldn’t strictly be a two-man show. Jerami Grant is talented enough to function as a third option behind such a dynamic duo.
