Phoenix Suns Receive: F Danuel House Jr., G/F Matisse Thybulle, 2028 First-Round Pick (Swap – PHI) 

At first glance, this deal may look like the Phoenix Suns are trying to replace Cam Johnson with spare parts in this Philadelphia 76ers deal.

Perhaps it is. House Jr. isn’t as lethal a floor spacer as Johnson, but he’s still an extremely reliable shooter. Thybulle isn’t, but he’s a better defender than either. The Suns would be hoping that the two combined could make up for the loss of Johnson. 

That might be a little optimistic. At the same time, the Suns are a bit desperate. If Crowder is stalwart in his trade request, his value is distressed. Meanwhile, trading Johnson isn’t an option – he’s due for an extension this summer, and won’t be playing for the rest of the year. His trade value is 0. 

Meanwhile, the Sixers should be happy to capitalize on the Suns’ desperation.
